Where to Look for Work
Most of the employers in our directory were found on these sites. Here is what each one actually is, so you know where to spend your time.
Indiana Career Connect
The State of Indiana's own free job board, run by the Department of Workforce Development through WorkOne. Tens of thousands of Indiana jobs, plus career tools. Make an account here first, then ask WorkOne staff to help you use it. indianacareerconnect.com
Honest Jobs
A job site built for people with records, started by people with records. Employers who post here have said they are open to hiring people with a background. Free for job seekers. honestjobs.com
70 Million Jobs
A second-chance job platform founded by a formerly incarcerated entrepreneur. Free for job seekers, with a resume builder and job matching. 70millionjobs.com
Jails to Jobs
Not a job board. A California nonprofit with a free, step-by-step job search guide for people with records, including how to find jobs that are never posted, and a national directory of free and low-cost tattoo removal. jailstojobs.org
Felony Record Hub
A free information site with lists of companies reported to hire people with felonies, plus job and housing tips. It is a private site, not a government source, so treat its lists as leads to check, not promises. felonyrecordhub.com
Indeed and company websites
Big general job boards and company career pages are where most jobs are posted. They do not screen for fair-chance employers, so use our employer directory to decide where to apply first.
A simple weekly plan
- Pick 10 employers from your county's page in our directory.
- Apply to 3 a day on Indiana Career Connect, Honest Jobs, or the company's own site.
- Walk in or call about the ones that say "apply in person." Mention the free Federal Bonding Program.
- Tell us what happened. Tap Report on the employer's page so the next person knows who really hires.
Call ahead to confirm. Offices move and hours change. Broken Champions is not affiliated with the agencies, programs, or employers listed, and nothing on this page is legal advice.
